Step into the world of Word Colony, where players compete to build sprawling “colonies” of interconnected words—while answering trivia to gather the very letters they need. It’s a clever blend of quiz, vocabulary, and tactical planning.
In each round, one player draws a card, reads the trivia question (with multiple-choice answers), and the others vote secretly on what they think is correct. Correct respondents draw additional letter cards—and as a twist, if no one gets the answer right, the reader collects the reward instead.
With your growing hand of letter cards, you then craft one or more words—ideally forming a “colony” by branching new words off existing ones (crossword style). A colony is essentially a connected structure: once you’ve built two or more overlapping words, your words are protected from being stolen by opponents.
But there’s more:
Special “Booster” cards add exciting twists—abilities like Immunity, Magic Word, Fist Bump, or Conquest can shake up the game at key moments.
As your word colonies grow, you can even reach Supercolonies (5+ words) or trigger Decolonization, which resets parts of your network for extra scoring benefits.
Play continues until a target score is reached (options typically include 40, 70, or 100 points), and the first player to cross that line wins the race to expand their colony.
